ABOUT US

 

Whispering Winds Senior Living was built in 2001 by Greenleaf. MCDC (Miner County Development Corporation) purchased it in 2003. The current owners purchased it in December of 2020. Marty and Christina have three boys: Oliver Joseph (7); Roy Otto (5); Walter Daniel (4). Marty is an elementary physical education teacher and wrestling coach for Madison Central School District, and Christina works at East River Electric in Madison, SD. Prior to joining East River Electric, Christina spent nearly a decade in the healthcare industry.

Long term care and caring for others is their passion. You can be assured that they will continue to put forth the efforts to fulfill the mission of Whispering Winds Senior Living Center. 

KIM EGGERT,
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
 

Kim was born in DeSmet and raised in Howard. She worked for the Howard School District for 25 years before becoming Executive Director of Whispering Winds Senior Living in May, 2008. She has enjoyed working with and getting to know the residents and families and looks forward to continued care of our amazing residents. Kim and her husband, Warren, are the parents of two grown children; one son, Adam (Lexy) and a granddaughter McKenzie, and one daughter, Amber. 

BRENDA DONAHUE, RN
 

Brenda was born in DeSmet & raised in Howard. She graduated from South Dakota State University in 1986 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing & minors in Community Health & Nutrition. She has worked at St. Joseph's (Queen of Peace) in Mitchell on the medical floor. Later, she worked at Sioux Valley (Sanford) Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit. Currently, Brenda does home health in Miner County & is the nurse at Whispering Winds Senior Living. Brenda enjoys working with people. She is married to Bernard Donahue. Their family consists of 3 daughters, 2 of whom are married and one son.

JOCELYN JOHNSON, RD
 

Jocelyn was raised on a farm near Artesian, SD. She graduated from Mount Marty College in 2008 with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Wellness and went on to earn her Masters degree in Nutritional Sciences from South Dakota State University. She completed her dietetic internship through the University of South Dakota Medical School in Sioux Falls, SD. Jocelyn has worked in both clinical and community-based aspects of dietetics and currently works as a self-employed consultant dietitian. Jocelyn enjoys DIY projects, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. She lives in Sioux Falls with her husband, Quinten, daughters Rhetta and Hadley, and dog Oakley.
